Aaron Levie is the Co-founder and CEO of Box.net. Founded as a college business project with a vision giving people instant access to their information, anywhere, Box.net was launched from Mr. Levie’s dorm room in 2005 with the help of CFO, Dylan Smith. Mr. Levie is responsible for product and platform strategy and design. Mr. Levie studied entrepreneurship for two and a half years at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Founded in March 2005, Box.net is the first online file system that enables users to share, access, and collaborate on files of any type from anywhere. Box.net is a leader in this space with more than 1.5 million users, over 1 million files served every day, and more than 1000 developers in the Box Enabled Network. Box.net is the first web-native system and is used by individuals, small businesses and Fortune 1000 companies. In December 2007, the company launched its OpenBox platform which connects data from Box.net to other web-based applications and services providing users the ability to do more with their data. Box.net is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, and is backed by venture capitalist firms Draper Fisher Jurvetson and U.S. Venture Partners.
