Ms. Harman, Managing Director in the Los Angeles office, has been employed by Allied Capital since 2004. She currently serves on both the Management Committee and the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Harman served as a Managing Director and Principal for American Capital Strategies, Ltd., a business development company, from 2000 until 2004. She worked as a Managing Director and Head of Private Placements for First Security Van Kasper from 1996 to 2000 and a Managing Director of Coopers & Lybrand from 1993 to 1996. From 1982 to 1993, Ms. Harman held various senior level positions in the private placement arm of The Prudential Insurance Company of America.
She has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Growth since 2000 and currently serves on the Board of the Women's Leadership Council. Ms. Harman earned her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her M.B.A. from the University of California-Berkeley.
